Enrollment
Enrollment follows a referral process that includes a holistic review by the PWC Referral Team. This process ensures that all options are reviewed for the student and that a group decision is made that is in the best interest of the student.
Referral:
This form is completed by a student, school staff or a family member: 2024-2025 PWC Referral Form
Review:
The Referral Team meets on a weekly basis to review received referral forms. The Team determines the next steps in the process and communicates these to the referral source and family.
PWC Tour:
The assigned Social Emotional Specialist will reach out to the guardian to offer an invitation for the guardian and student to learn more about the PWC, its programming, and to provide a tour. Completing the tour is a necessary component to ensure the student and guardian understand and accept the PWC as their educational option.
Enrollment:
If the PWC is selected, the PWC staff will set a start date, conduct an orientation for the incoming student, select courses and communicate logistics with the home school. Students attend the PWC but maintain their status at the home school, which then continues all rights and privileges of attending that school (clubs, extracurricular activities, sports, prom, etc).
Timeline:
From receipt of the referral to start date, one can anticipate this to be a quick process; typically, it is less than 2 weeks.
The PWC Referral Team is comprised of the following specialists:
Director, Social Emotional Specialists, School Counselor, School Nurse, Special Education Teacher. Input from students, families, and current school staff is strongly considered.
